This is my thirds year teaching at Riverside Preparatory Elementary School. I have a background in Psychology and worked as a Behavioral Therapist before teaching. I graduated with my Master in Education from Azusa Pacific University. I always strive to be the best teacher I can be and enjoy helping each and every one of my students reach their full potential.
I believe that with the two Cs anything is possible - Coffee and Chocolate😜
Why do I teach?
Teaching has been my passion since I was five years old. I remember playing "class" on the playground during recess, and then when I was older playing teacher with my younger cousin - I would give her "homework" and I taught her how to add and subtract. It was during those times that I had decided what I wanted to be when I grew up. I loved sharing my knowledge and helping others understand things that I learned easily.
As I got older I sometimes wondered what other paths I could pursue. After finishing my undergrad with a degree in Psychology I began working as a Behavioral Therapist for children. During this time the children often called me "teacher" and it reminded me that teaching was what I was truly meant to do.
I teach because I love it. I love building relationships with students and watching them grow. I love seeing their looks of accomplishment when they understand something. I love helping them build confidence in themselves and in their learning and helping them understand that making mistakes is okay and that we do not have to be perfect.
I teach because I love my students - past, present, and future.
Though my days are sometimes stressful and the worries never end, at the end of each day I can honestly say that I love my job.
