One resource I absolutely cannot live without is my teacher planner. I have bought one every year, but this school year I designed and made my own. While I loved the ones I bought, I sometimes found that they did not fit my needs, so I created one that had exactly what I wanted/needed. I highly recommend having one, as it helped me not only keep track of my schedule and lesson plans, but student information as well.
If you would like one of your own there are many great options to choose from;
-If you'd like to be hands on, TPT has great ones you can buy. Then you print and bind them yourself.
-If you'd like one ready to go, Michael's has Recollections, and Happy Planner (I love both of these)
-If you'd like to customize but have the printing and binding done for you, and you don't mind spending a little more, I recommend Plum Paper and Erin Condren.
Clever was a great way to help me keep all of our class' digital resources organized, and it gave students quick easy access to them.
Before Clever, students had to learn how to Bookmark pages and type in websites. Clever allows me to put anything I want my students to have access to right on our Class Page and make it an easy to find icon that they could access in a single click.
I am even able to make categories that separate Math from ELA from Science, from Extra Activities.
I definitely recommend Clever for anyone who has their students on a computer at any time.
These resources have helped me remain stress free when I need a substitute, either planned or last minute.
The cover design for my Sub Binder I found on TPT, but the contents inside are my own. Inside I included my Emergency Sub Plans that can be used at the last minute for any day of the week. After that is everything the substitute will need to navigate the school and classroom; substitute feedback form, daily schedule, after school duty, campus map, Specials schedule, school/staff directory, bus routes, school calendar, and our school disaster plan and safety handbook. This is easy for my students and team to grab and give to a sub in case I am out at the last minute, and I know they will have all they need to survive the day.
I put together the Sub Tub myself, but all the resources inside (except for a copy of my emergency sub plans) I found on Wife Teacher Mommy. With the Sub Plans I also included instructions on how to pick activities from here. This is only used on the days when I was out at the last minute and did not have plans ready. This has helped alleviate my stress, knowing that even if I had to get a sub at the last minute, there would be plenty of work to fill the day.
