Learning Objectives
Math 7 is an on level 7th grade math class. Students will explore a variety of topics including operations with positive and negative numbers, one and two step equations, ratios and proportions, real world applications of percentages, probability and statistics, angles, circles, and much more.
I&E assignments (or Intervention and Enrichment assignments) are given each week. Students are assigned 1 to 5 skills based on their diagnostic scores in IXL. These skills are different for each student based on their strengths or weaknesses. Many skills assigned are not taught directly in class but are meant to be a review to prepare students for upcoming lessons or to strengthen foundational skills.
Each week on topic or strand is selected by Mr. Gorelick and students are assigned skills from that topic or strand. The strands are Geometry, the Number System, Expressions and Equations, Ratios and Proportional Relationships, and Statistics and Probability.
Because each student is assigned individualized skills, no late work will be accepted. All skills will be assigned by the first school day of the week and will be due at 2PM on the last school day of the week. (Usually Monday and Friday respectively.)
