Fall 2025   Welcome to 6th Grade! – September 2025

Dear Roosevelt Elementary 6th Grade Parents,

I hope this message finds you well and filled with excitement for the new school year! I am delighted to welcome you to 6th grade, a year full of new challenges, discoveries, and opportunities for growth. Whether I had the pleasure of teaching you in PDIA, had one of your siblings,  or we are meeting for the first time, I am eager to begin this educational journey together.

As we begin the year, we will focus on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and developing a growth mindset. When students feel safe, supported, and comfortable at school, their ability to learn and thrive significantly increases.  A growth mindset encourages students to embrace challenges, explore various ways to solve problems, and view mistakes as valuable opportunities for learning.

My goal is to create a classroom where your child feels safe taking academic risks, collaborating with peers, and growing both academically and personally. I want every student to know that they are supported and capable of achieving great things. To learn more about the power of a growth mindset, a short video is linked below.
