Students will choose a topic from the list below. They will research the topic and then create a power point presentation with images, graphics and text to display while they present their speech. The goal is for students to be able to tell us what they have learned rather than reading the text from the slide. We will work on making eye contact with their audience and speaking in a clear voice. Students may bring pictures, posters they've made, power point presentations, or other visual aid items. If a student is absent on Wednesday, their speech is due the next day they attend class.
This activity should be a fun way to study something that is interesting to the student. Look at the topics for each month. Select the most interesting to study. Starting in March, if you are not interested in the topics for the month, plan to present a topic that is of interest but pleases make sure that you get pre-approved prior to presenting or researching.
Speeches must include: A title slide, an agenda for the speech, 8-10 slides, a bibliography
