Set up your teams for a substitute
It is very important that we all set up our Subs in Teams the same way so that IT, coaches, and support staff can troubleshoot any issues and make the day seamless for your students.
Please, please, please... do not give your district password to a substitute.
If you do not need your Sub to present, you only need to
invite SUByourfirstandlastname@riverbank.k12.ca.us by adding them to the "optional attendees"
Go to meeting options and allow "participants in my organization" to bypass the lobby.
If you would like to Invite a Sub to Present
A SUByourname@riverbank.k12.ca.us account has already been added to your Teams.
To give presenter rights to this account, follow these steps:
Open up your TEAMS calendar
Open meeting
Choose EDIT
Choose EDIT SERIES
Add your Sub to the "REQUIRED ATTENDEES"
Click on SEND UPDATE (blue button upper right)
Open meeting again
Select MEETING OPTIONS
Select WHO CAN BYPASS LOBBY and choose PEOPLE IN MY ORGANIZATION
Select SELECT PRESENTERS FOR THIS MEETING
Choose SPECIFIC PEOPLE (if you don't have this choice, then you have not invited your Sub to the meeting steps 1-6)
Choose your SUB
Click SAVE
If you have multiple classes, repeat for each class.
Note:
Teams will not give permission for individual presenters if you invited your class through a channel
When you create a meeting directly from the TEAM it automatically goes through the General Channel
ex: BIO 1-General
If you want your sub to have the ability to present, you will need create your meetings through Teams Calendar to avoid this problem.
If you need to invite your class to the meeting
When you are inviting students, you will need the section number. You can find this number on your attendance sheet as shown below:
Once you have the section number, it is easy to determine which class is yours.
Note here I typed in english1 and several popped up. I found the one that ended in 3000 (the section number for this course).
