The Ritsu Super Global Forum (RSGF) 2024 will focus on the theme "Regeneration: How Can We Create a Regenerative Society?" How can we foster a society that can restore and revitalize ecosystems, communities, and economies? How can we ensure a planet that can sustain us and the generations hereafter?

Various environmental challenges, social inequities and economic instability remain a threat for our survival, pushing for the need to develop solutions that can transform, restore, and revitalize ecosystems, communities, and economies. Recognizing this need, RSGF aims to inspire collaboration and innovation among diverse stakeholders, equipping them with the tools necessary to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future. On November 13 – 17, 2024, RSGF will gather student participants from various parts of the world to engage in rich discussions across five key topics: regenerative food, fashion, energy, communities, and tourism.

Through discussions, poster presentations, and fieldwork, participants will focus on crafting actionable solutions that empower individuals and communities and enhance local cultures and environments. Here are some of the questions that we will try to explore during this 5-day forum:

• Regenerative food: 

  1. How can we shift towards food systems that nourish both people and the environment?

  2. What is the role of local food movements in regeneration?

• Regenerative Fashion

  1. How can we create a fashion ecosystem that respects people and the environment?

  2. What are the impacts of consumer choices in developing and implementing regenerative practices? 

• Regenerative Energy

  1. What steps can we take to shift to a decentralized, regenerative energy system?

  2. How can communities tap local resources for energy independence?

• Regenerative Communities

  1. How can we empower communities to be responsible in developing a regenerative mindset?

  2. How can social capital create resilient communities?

• Regenerative Tourism

  1. How can tourism contribute to the regeneration of local cultures and environments?

  2. What frameworks can ensure that tourism is beneficial not only the economy but for the environment?

By embracing a regenerative mindset and bringing together perspectives from different cultures, sectors, and communities, we can enhance our collective capacity to explore and develop innovative solutions that can adapt to changing circumstances and withstand the test of time. Join us in envisioning a world where regeneration is at the heart of our societal framework. While the future may be profoundly unknown, we can work together in the present to ensure that the world we will live in is just, humane, inclusive, healthy, and prosperous.

During the forum, participants were divided into groups (based on the topics listed above) to engage in focused discussions on various aspects of regeneration. They brainstormed activities and goals on their assigned topic, fostering collaboration and idea-sharing. Each group then had to present their output and the top two groups from each main topic were selected to be presented during the plenary session on Day 4 of the forum. Aside from their proposed activities and solutions, they also came up with their own logos representing their collective ideas and goals for regeneration. These designs reflect their aspirations in fostering sustainability, collaboration , and positive change.
