Welcome to the Rits Super Global Forum 2024!

Greetings to all the inspired young minds from around the world. We are delighted to host the 11th Rits Super Global Forum. It is a true pleasure to be with so many brilliant and eager young minds.

The RSGF is not only about identifying problems, but also about envisioning solutions. As future leaders, you have an important role in addressing these global challenges, and creating a more just and harmonious world.

This year’s main theme, Regeneration: How Can We Create a Regenerative Society? invites us to look beyond sustainability. While building a sustainable society is essential, it does not necessarily restore our living environment. It is time to shift our focus to discussing a regenerative society – one that prioritizes the restoration of ecosystems, food systems, energy use, and our environment. We urgently need to take concrete measures to regenerate our social and ecological systems and revitalize communities and economies in distress.

The journey of RSGF, an international student conference coordinated by Ritsumeikan, has always been a platform for fostering cross-cultural exchanges and discussions. It is a celebration of diversity and shared aspirations. As you immerse yourselves in this experience, I encourage you to listen intently, respect diverse perspectives, and engage with every voice, idea, and dream.

Lastly, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the principals, educators, and countless supporters who have made RSGF 2024 a reality. Your collaboration is shaping the next generation of global thinkers and leaders. Let's forge connections that transcend borders and craft solutions that will echo across generations.

Hello everyone,

My name is Mitsuki Murayama, the Student Representative of RSGF 2024. I am thrilled that students from various countries will be participating in this year's　RSGF. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to all the teachers and student committee members who have dedicated their efforts to make this event possible.

The theme for this year's RSGF is “How Can We Create a Regenerative Society?” While global interest in sustainability is increasing, there are still numerous challenges to address. The term “regenerative” signifies the need to not only maintain the current state but also improve society and the environment by solving fundamental problems. Creating a regenerative society is vital for safeguarding future generations and the planet itself.

This year, we will explore the concept of “Regenerative Society” through five discussion topics: food, fashion, energy, communities, and tourism. We aim to work collectively to shape a new societal model that reflects the diverse perspectives of each country and culture. Moreover, this year marks the 10th anniversary of RSGF, and we have planned special events to celebrate this milestone. I hope that all participants will enjoy these activities. Above all, I hope that you will cherish the valuable connections and cultural exchanges that will take place during the RSGF. This event offers a unique opportunity for individuals from different countries to exchange ideas and share their cultures. I hope that over the course of the five days, you will learn, engage in meaningful exchanges, and form connections that will last for years to come.

I encourage each of you to reflect on what you can contribute and to generate new ideas that are relevant to the present moment. I hope that your experience at RSGF 2024 will ignite your passion for learning and lead you towards a bright future.
