Colors are a powerful brand component capable of evoking emotions and brand personality. A strong brand identity carries easy recognition of colors. Particularly, bold colors can help us establish connections with our stakeholders and promote easy recall of our brand among them. With this, green and blue are reinstated as the Institute’s flagship colors (to reinforce our brand), and gold as their complement.
The selected three (3) primary colors are chosen from the Pantone Matching System (for graphics) and Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors System.
The selected three (3) primary colors are chosen from the Pantone Matching System (for graphics) and Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors System.
Among the three colors, green is chosen as the primary color to represent the Institute as it is often associated with health. Apart from this, green is an integral color in the logo of the Institute’s parent agency, Department of Health.
Aside from being the product of the other two primary colors, green is also known to convey quality and wisdom. These characteristics are suggestive of RITM in the country’s health landscape, providing decades worth of leadership and guidance in health research and laboratory operations.
This relates back to the “Ruler” persona archetype determined earlier. Ultramarine Green is chosen in particular, which is a rich, dark combination of green and cyan.
Blue is determined as the secondary color. Blue is also another color commonly used by health industries. Blue mixes with green well as it is positioned close to one another in the color wheel, which make an analogous color pairing. It also fares well with yellow or gold, which together makes a complementary color pairing.
Blue is often used to convey trust, competence, and intelligence. These qualities match RITM as well being a leading agency in the country on infectious disease control.
This can be related to the “Caregiver” persona archetype. Classic Blue is specifically chosen which is a diverse, medium dark combination of cyan and blue.
Gold is selected to complement both aforementioned colors. As derived from the luxurious metal, gold is commonly associated with abundance. It blends well with green and blue as they form a close analogous color combination.
Closely related to yellow, it can also convey creativity and achievement. These qualities are suggestive of the Institute’s innovations on health-related strategies to mitigate disease outbreaks in the country.
This relates to the “Creator” persona archetype earlier identified. Aspen Gold is selected, which is a cordial medium light shade of yellow.
The secondary colors are derivatives of the primary colors, tertiary colors, and basic colors (red, yellow, green). The following colors are proposed to support the primary colors in official RITM collaterals.
