RIS Middle School Summer School offers students a purposeful and well-rounded experience focused on both academic growth and personal development. With core classes in Math, English, Science, and Physical Education, students will strengthen key skills through engaging projects, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning—all in a supportive and age-appropriate environment.
For students looking to improve their English fluency, the English Enrichment track provides interactive opportunities to build vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills in both academic and social contexts.
In addition to academic learning, students can explore a variety of creative electives that spark curiosity and build practical skills. Options include Culinary Arts, Woodcrafts, and Career Preparation: Your Pathway to University, each designed to encourage self-expression, innovation, and future-ready thinking.
It’s a summer designed to balance challenge and creativity, helping students build confidence, connect with peers, and enjoy learning in meaningful ways.

MATH
Students will strengthen their skills through engaging projects, interactive games, hands-on activities, and meaningful technology integration. This course is designed to reinforce key concepts, promote problem-solving strategies, and deepen mathematical understanding in a fun and supportive environment. Students will build both competence and confidence as they prepare for success in the upcoming school year.
SCIENCE
Students will learn to use laboratory equipment safely and correctly while conducting basic experiments. The course focuses on general scientific methods and helps students develop critical thinking and the ability to support ideas with scientific evidence. Through hands-on activities and observation, students will explore and better understand the world around them through the lens of science.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION (P.E.)
This PE course emphasizes movement, teamwork, and fun through a variety of games and sports-based activities. Students will stay active and energized while building coordination, fitness, and sportsmanship. From team games to individual challenges, this course promotes a love for physical activity in a supportive, playful environment—perfect for a summer of staying fit and having fun!
ENGLISH
Through discussions, literature, and exploration of contemporary themes, students will engage in a variety of learning opportunities that deepen their understanding and appreciation of the English language. The course includes a writing component tailored to student needs, covering grammar, different writing styles, and creative writing. It’s a thoughtful mix of skill-building and self-expression.
ENGLISH ENRICHMENT
This course supports students in developing greater fluency, confidence, and skill in English through interactive, student-centered activities. Designed for learners looking to improve their language abilities, the course focuses on vocabulary building, grammar practice, and improving reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Through group discussions, projects, and games, students become more comfortable using English in both academic and social settings—building expression, clarity, and readiness for success.

CULINARY ARTS
The Heavenly Baked Goods summer course is designed to help students feel comfortable using the oven and working in the kitchen. Students will learn to prepare a variety of baked meals and desserts—and, of course, enjoy the delicious results of their efforts! This fun, hands-on course may just spark a new hobby and a lasting love for baking.
WOODWORK
The Woodcrafts course offers middle school students a hands-on introduction to basic woodworking skills in a safe and creative environment. Students will learn how to measure, cut, sand, and assemble simple projects using real tools and materials. Through guided activities and personal creations, they’ll build confidence, enhance problem-solving abilities, and gain an appreciation for craftsmanship—all while bringing their ideas to life.
CAREER PREPARATION: YOUR PATHWAY TO UNIVERSITY
This course is your guide to navigating the journey from middle school to university—and beyond. Students will engage in personal exploration, hands-on projects, and develop essential skills to help discover passions, refine goals, and prepare for the next steps in both education and career.
Through group discussions and collaborative projects, students will explore their interests, values, and the universities that align with their aspirations. They’ll gain insight into career paths, learn how to engage in relevant high school activities, sharpen interview skills, and begin to understand how career planning connects to universities worldwide.
With the added benefit of career mentoring from Bangkok-area professionals, students will gain valuable exposure to real-world expectations and opportunities.
By the end of the course, they will be equipped with the confidence, knowledge, and vision to pursue their goals with purpose—ready to make informed decisions for high school and beyond.
