At RIS Elementary Summer School, children thrive in a safe, supportive environment where they can learn, grow, and have fun. Our program helps students build confidence, make new friends, and develop academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Here, students are encouraged to find their voices, explore new passions, and create lifelong memories along the way.

A LOOK INSIDE THE PROGRAM
PRE-K with MS. DARIKAÂ
Students explore, play, and learn in a warm, supportive environment designed for our youngest learners. Through hands-on activities and guided exploration, children build confidence, curiosity, and early social skills.
Throughout the day, students develop early literacy and numeracy through storytelling, simple writing, counting, and patterning. Creative experiences like art, sensory play, and construction help children express ideas and explore the world around them.
KG with MS. RUTH
Through engaging, playful activities, students build early literacy skills such as letter recognition, phonics, and beginning writing—growing in confidence as readers and writers.
Students also develop numeracy through hands-on learning in counting, sorting, and patterns. The program balances learning and play, helping children build essential skills while enjoying a fun and meaningful summer experience.
GRADE 1 with MR. MATTÂ
Students build strong foundations in English, math, and science while gaining confidence for the transition into Grade 1. Learning is hands-on and interactive, with activities that encourage curiosity, participation, and teamwork. Students revisit key concepts from Kindergarten while extending their thinking through meaningful, engaging experiences.
GRADE 2 with MR. JEFFÂ
Students develop their reading, writing, and math skills through engaging and interactive lessons. With a focus on creativity and communication, students explore a variety of texts and express their ideas through writing and discussion, building both confidence and a love for learning.
GRADE 3 with MS. MINA
Students strengthen key literacy and math skills while becoming more confident and independent learners. Through collaborative and engaging activities, they build strong learning habits, develop problem-solving skills, and grow in both confidence and responsibility.
GRADE 4 with MR. ALEX
Students deepen their understanding of core subjects through hands-on projects and meaningful learning experiences. With a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving, they explore ideas more deeply while building confidence and preparing for the next stage of learning.
GRADE 5 with MR. JOHN
Students build strong skills in reading, writing, math, and research as they prepare for middle school. Learning emphasizes real-world connections, teamwork, and independence, helping students grow into confident and capable learners ready for new challenges.
SPECIALS
STEM with MS. MINA
Students explore science, technology, engineering, and math through fun, hands-on challenges that spark curiosity and creativity. Activities encourage students to think critically, solve problems, and apply their learning in exciting, real-world ways.
COOKIE MONSTERS with MR. DAN
Students enjoy hands-on baking and cooking activities while learning practical skills in the kitchen. As they create a variety of treats, they build confidence, follow step-by-step processes, and enjoy sharing what they make.
READER'S THEATRE & POETRY with MR. JEFF
Students build confidence in English through reading, speaking, and performance. Through fun and interactive storytelling activities, they develop fluency, expression, and a deeper enjoyment of language.
CREATIVE CODING & ROBOTICS with MS. DAINTY
Students are introduced to coding and robotics through creative, hands-on activities. They design simple games, animations, and projects while building problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and confidence with technology.
SUMMER ART ADVENTURES with MS. KELLEY
Students explore their creativity through hands-on art projects using a variety of materials. The focus is on imagination, self-expression, and the creative process, allowing students to experiment, create, and share their ideas.
DIGITAL DESIGN SKILLS with MR. JOHN
Students explore how design works through fun, creative projects. They learn to think like designers—planning, creating, and improving their ideas—while bringing their creativity to life in different forms.
MUSICAL ADVENTURES with MS. DAINTY
Students explore the joy of music through singing, movement, and creative activities. They build confidence, teamwork, and self-expression while experiencing music in a fun and engaging environment.
