Make a simple system that changes over time using strategies from Max Workshop 3, while keeping in mind the principles of systems theory presented by Meadows and utilized by artists as discussed by Burnham.
Your system should take three floating point numbers between 0 & 1 (call them a, b, and c) and do something interesting with them. It should also be able to output three floating point numbers (a, b, and c again) to one or more computers on your local network.
You’ll be assigned to a new group this week—meet with your group and practice for next week. During your rehearsal, you’ll want to think about how the values you are outputting affect the sound coming from the other members of your group’s systems.
If you don’t like the way your system works in the group setting, change it. If you don’t like how somebody else’s system sounds (or affects yours), tell them. Honesty is the key to understanding.
