This site is meant to hold all the general information about Odyssey art classes at all levels. Here, you will find live class schedules, supply lists, and what to expect. With students' permission, I would also love to create a virtual gallery page of sorts so we can share photos of the beautiful creations made in art class. Stay tuned!
Please consider this site a launchpad. This site will NOT be updated week to week with assignments, zoom links, etc. The specifics for primary and elementary art classes will be shared via Google Classroom. Art class has a GC page separate from your child's teacher's page. (Links to join are below under each grade level description.)
Middle school students will also use Google Classroom, and high school students will be invited to join the course on Headrush where all assignments, due dates, etc. will be shared.

Before getting into all the art class info, I am Laura Gruetzmacher. This is my fifth school year teaching art for OAVL. I was hired in 2020 to offer a series of in-person elective art classes for Odyssey students. These were scheduled to start the same week we entered lockdown. I was asked to pivot my plan to virtual art classes, which was a learning curve, but in turn, grew into what is now the Odyssey art program. I have truly enjoyed my time teaching and learning within the OAVL community as it continues to grow. I live in Ripon with my two kids, two cats, and a dog. When I'm not teaching or making art, I enjoy gardening, cooking, reading, and yoga.

I will share the class recordings here as well, so please join even if you don't intend to take part in the live classes!
Save the Live Art Class Calendar (click the calendar icon below)...This document will also include the zoom links to join live and links to the recordings for each class if you can't attend live.

Asynchronous art class is a new option this year. Students in all elementary grade levels who opted for asynchronous art should use the link below to join the Google Classroom Page. This is where all class content will be shared and where students will submit evidence of their progress.
Please be sure to designate a workspace for art and be ready to photograph student work for submission. Watch for more instruction and suggestions on this. Since art is now a graded class, taking clear photos of student work is a new consideration for elementary students.
Asynchronous art class is a new option this year for middle school students as well. Students in grades 6-8 that chose Asynchronous Art will be following roughly the same syllabus as the live MS/HS art class. Use the link below to join the google classroom page for MS Asynchronous Art. This is where all the information you need for class will be shared.
Please be sure to designate a workspace for art and be ready to photograph student work for submission. Watch for more instruction and suggestions on this.
