ELA 9 Bootcamp - Ms. Budesheim

This course will help incoming freshmen become acquainted with the format and expectations of the 9th grade English curriculum. Students will practice critical reading of fiction and non-fiction, the essay writing process, and necessary study skills. They will also discuss the summer reading assignment given by their middle school teacher in preparation for the new school year. Please arrive with your summer reading selection and a willingness to prepare for learning. Regardless of level (Resource, CP, CPE, or Honors), the student will have the advantage of knowing what to expect in English class in September.
ELA 10 Bootcamp - Mrs. Peller

This is a course for incoming sophomores designed to provide students with the critical reading, writing, and study/organizational skills to more smoothly adjust to the expectations of a sophomore English course. Some of the skills that will be addressed include close reading, vocabulary in context, and research, as well as organizational skills with technology.
Boost! English for Newcomers and English Language Learners - Ms. Rodriguez

Our Summer Language Development and Proficiency program will focus on individual student needs and help students hone their skills and practice their speaking, writing and listening skills by varied interactive activities. Programs such as this can help students improve their WIDA scores, boost self confidence and prepare them for the following school year all while having some fun!

In this course students will work through the Common App prompts to craft their college application essays. The course will include brainstorming, drafting, workshopping, and revision.
The Design Process - Mr. Fazio

In this course students will solve real world problems using math, science, and technology. Activities will include using the problem solving design loop. Student learning activities will promote imagination, judgment, and reasoning skills. Research, designing and drawing, some woodworking, and engineering challenges will be incorporated in student centered learning activities.
Introduction to Coding - Mr. DeFeo

In this course, students will be exposed to basic computer science knowledge and coding skills to support students' growing comfort and confident with coding techniques. This course will enhance interest in future computer science study and learning.
Factoring Bootcamp Algebra 1/Algebra 2- Ms. Vitale

This course will provide an in depth review of factoring polynomials including quadratics and beyond. We will also make connections between factored expressions and solutions of a polynomial, their graphs, and application problems. While this course will review factoring (an Algebra 1 skill) from the ground up, this course is best suited to students who have already taken Algebra 1.
Pre-Geometry Bootcamp - Ms. Dinan

In this course, students will review and master Algebra 1 concepts from last year that they will be using in Geometry, such as factoring, PEMDAS, graphing linear equations, simplifying radicals (pythagorean theorem), and finding basic shapes perimeter, area, and circumference. In addition to direct instruction, students will work collaboratively with each other to complete fun activities involving these concepts.
Forensics Camp - True Crime - Ms. Miller

In this course, students will be introduced to the field of Forensic Science using a hands on approach that draws from True Crime as examples and the basis of labs and activities.
Digital Arts & Photography - Ms. Higbie

In this course, student artists will be introduced to basic digital art tools and gain a better understanding of Photoshop and Procreate by creating digital works of art. The goal of this course is for student artists to learn the skills necessary to create digital illustrations, poster designs and to learn basic photo editing skills. Students will also be introduced to basic concepts in digital photography, including understanding and using a DSLR camera, lenses, composition, and other basic photographic equipment.
Harp and Piano Intro - Ms. Heerema COURSE NOT RUNNING

This collaborative and interactive program exposes high schoolers to the foundational skills used in order to play harp and/or piano. Studies will include music theory, note reading, rhythm, posture, and proper exercises to do before and after playing our instrument.
Spanish - Ms. deDiego

This course is designed to help students transition from middle school into high school and get ready for Spanish 1 or Spanish 2. It will be a fun and engaging course for students to master the concepts they need to have a successful year.
