As a CTC/CEC Candidate
<Or Potential Candidate>
<Or Potential Candidate>
Based on our criteria for a coach (see 'As a Coach' page) , we offer coaching slots to our CTC's and CEC's first. The Coaches' Clinic is sponsored by the Scrum Alliance's coaching programs and we want to conference participants to experience our CTC's and CEC's first hand as well as build awareness of our coaching programs.
As a CTC or CEC applicant (this means you have submitted your application), we are offering to you valuable learning opportunity to be mentored by a CTC/CEC at the coaches clinic!
1. The will be a 2 column board with CTC/CEC on one column, candidates in the other. Then people will pull the names on the schedule board into an appointment slot, one for the CEC/CTC and one for candidate. This is a pull system, so, you will allocate and match yourselves.
2. At the appointment time, the CEC/CTC Pairs with Candidate. We suggest showing up 15 minutes before your appointment slot if possible to talk about how to design your pairing.
3. Explain to the client that you will be pairing for the purpose of learning from one another. One coach is coaching, one will be observing.
4. Round 1 : CEC/CTC coaches a client (15 minutes). Candidate observes. Debrief for 5 minutes after coaching client <can continue for more rounds if desired>.
5. Round 2 : Candidate coaches a client (15 minutes). CTC/CEC observes. Debrief for 5 minutes with mentor feedback from the CTC/CEC
6. Round 3: Free round. End it? Repeat it? Pair coaching together?Debrief for 5 minutes with mentor feedback from the CTC/CEC
Of course, the pair can adapt how they coach together as they wish.
We may have a CTC/CEC information booth setup. Stay tuned on progress. Otherwise, we will have some coaches who are part of the CTC/CEC review teams that may be able to help you at the clinic.
We are looking into this as an exciting possibility to value 'Individuals and Interactions' over "Applications". Stay tuned for updates.
Update: This will not happen this gathering, but, we are talking about how to pull this off in the next one.
