As a Coach

I want to know what the criteria is to be a coach for the coaches' clinic.

We want coaches who can model the high standards of the mindset and competencies of a CEC and CTC and provide a positive coaching experience for attendees. Here are some ways to know if you are qualified. If you....

• Are a Certified Team Coach (CTC) .
• Are a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC).
• Are a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) with a coaching mindset.
• Hold an International Coaching Federation certification, such as the ACC, PCC, or MCC.
• Are an ICAgile Certified Coach .
• Have passed the Part 1 stage of the CTC or CEC review process.

I want to know what my responsibilities are as a clinic coach.

• Use and update the coach sign up board at the clinic for which slots you are available to coach.
• Although it is a great networking opportunity, you are responsible for creating a safe place for the coachees. Selling or marketing services would create an unsafe space and is not permitted in the coaching clinic. Trading business cards is OK.
• Your coaching session is confidential between the coach and the coachee. The topics may be shared for the sake of learning from other coaches, but the coachee and their organization should not be mentioned unless they provide their consent.
• Clinic times will be 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM each day with most traffic during Gathering break times. You can sign up for as much or as little coaching time as you like. We will have a sign-up calendar to claim time slots at the clinic.
• We will set up the clinic on Sunday starting about 5:30 PM. We would love to have a few folks contribute in setting up. We will run through the clinic process with anyone who shows up for this as well.

I want to know what opportunities I have as a coach to learn and grow.

• We encourage pair coaching in order to learn from one another and to model pairing to attendees.
• Coach shadowing is encouraged for people who are interested in growing their coaching skills. We suggest that the primary coach ask the client permission to have a shadow.
• Triad coaching to allow an observer coach to debrief with the primary coach on their discussion and approach. This would create a triple learning of the advice seeker, the primary coach, and the observer coach.

I did not sign up but want to volunteer. Can I just 'drop-in' and coach?

We would love to have you. At the same time, we do not want an oversupply of coaches, resulting you in standing around and just waiting. Please drop in and we would love to have you if we need more coaches.

I want to know how I can claim PDU/SEU's for volunteering.

A Coach at the clinic can claim Renewal SEUs for their time volunteering. They would classify their hours under the Community Engagement category fulfilling the following:

• Organize or facilitate a Scrum or Agile user group, seminar, webinar, conference, or other professional development opportunity.
• Participate in a Scrum or Agile--related committee, task force, workgroup, or Board of Directors (including TAC, CEC/CTC Review Committee).
