Dear 8th Grade Families!
I hope you and your family had a wonderful summer filled with rest, fun, and time together. I am so excited to welcome back our newest group of 8th graders for what is sure to be an unforgettable year!
It’s hard to believe that your child has reached their final year of middle school. Eighth grade is a year filled with growth, new opportunities, increased independence, and exciting milestones. It is a year to make lasting memories, strengthen friendships, discover new interests, and celebrate accomplishments along the way. From school events and spirit days to classroom experiences and end-of-year celebrations, there will be plenty of opportunities for students to enjoy their final year of middle school.
As your child's school counselor, I am here to support both students and families every step of the way. Throughout the year, students will participate in activities and lessons focused on high school planning, goal setting, decision-making, and building the confidence and skills they need for a successful transition. I will also share important information about the high school selection process, timelines, and resources to help make this exciting transition as smooth as possible. But of course, 8th grade is about so much more than preparing for high school!
My goal is to ensure every student feels supported academically, socially, and emotionally. Whether your child needs help navigating friendships, managing stress, setting goals, or simply has someone to talk to, my door is always open.
I encourage you to stay connected throughout the year. Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or simply to check in. Working together, we can help make this a positive, memorable, and successful year for every student.
Here's to an amazing year of learning, growing, celebrating, and preparing for the exciting journey ahead!
