Bus Information

Off Campus Games:

The Board of Education provides transportation to/from all away contests. All student athletes are to use this means of transportation.

Under extraordinary circumstances, if a student athlete needs to ride home with his/her parents, the parents/guardian must complete this Request for Alternate Transportation Form- (linked here) and submit it to their child's coach.  This form is also available in the Athletics Office.

Student athletes are not permitted to drive themselves to/from athletic contests at any time, for any reason.

To ensure a safe trip, student athletes are expected to follow all rules and regulations governing how students behave on the school bus.

Rules regarding food on Buses:

NO FOOD is to be eaten on the buses while transporting to/from athletic contests. New precautions are in place to protect those students who have life-threatening food allergies. All bus drivers have been provided with training concerning the effects of food allergies and emergency actions to be taken, if necessary. The largest food allergy problem is any food containing nut oils. Because it is impossible to know the ingredients of all foods students bring on the bus, we are taking the precautionary measure to eliminate any potential problems.

Effective immediately, no food is to be eaten on buses. Water is the only liquid that may be consumed. Only food that is pre-packaged or appropriately wrapped may be brought on the bus, but not consumed.

Off Campus Practices:

Parents and/or guardians are to be aware that baseball, golf, swim/dive, dance, ice hockey and some cheer, tennis & basketball practices are not held on the Ridgefield School campus. Athletes' families must provide or arrange their own transportation to/from off-site practices.

Exception: Bus shuttles to Barlow Mountain for Swim (fall/winter) and to Yanity Courts/Governor Park/ERMS/Playground Field for Baseball and JV Tennis (spring) are available each day from RHS. However, parents are responsible for providing transportation home when practice is over.
