Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to live in the chapter house?

After joining a chapter, it is common that you reside in the chapter house on campus. These houses are dorm-style living, but each house carries its own unique history and charm. However, if you are a commuter, it is not required to live in one of the residential buildings.

Will I be hazed?

No. Hazing is prohibited by Rider University according to the Rider University Anti-Hazing Policy and the Timothy J. Piazza Anti-Hazing Law. NPC and the entirety of Rider Greek Life does not condone any sort of hazing or illegal activity.

Is it easy to be involved in other organizations if you are in Greek life?

Absolutely! A large portion of our sisters are involved in multiple organizations on campus as well as in the Greek community. We encourage those in NPC to be involved throughout the Rider community!

What are the benefits of joining a sorority?

Joining a sorority allows for so many perks both during and after your time at Rider. Many of our women gain leadership skills, grow academically, and gain a larger career network, all while ultimately creating lasting friendships.

Is it difficult to be in Greek life if I am a commuter?

No! We have many commuters throughout the Greek community, especially in NPC. There are also great spaces to hang with sisters on campus, including the lounges and basements of our chapter houses where you can study, do homework, or just chill out between classes or before events.
