20 Book Challenge
Here’s what Mrs. Kanz expects from YOU:
+You are expected to read 20 grade level appropriate, self-selected independent reading books this year. That is right. Twenty!
+You will bring an independent reading book to class every day. (This is a crucial step in helping you reach this goal!)
+You will continue reading at home each evening; approximately 15-20 minutes per night in addition to regular homework. (This is also a crucial step in helping you reach this goal!)
+You will seek out assistance from me when needed.
+You will maintain a Tally List to keep track of completed books.
+🐝You will give at least one Book Buzz. 🐝
Here’s what YOU can expect from Mrs. Kanz:
+I will give you approximately 5 minutes of independent reading almost every day in class.
+I will check your Tally List regularly.
+I will give you access to our classroom library that is full of high interest books.
+I will make recommendations to help you select books that interest you.
+I will help you devise a plan so that you can reach the goal!
*All 20 books must be read by the end of the school year. You CAN do this, and I will help!*
