The Challenge: Students celebrated Dot Day in STEAM by learning about Bernoulli's Principle. Dot Day is a day that promotes collaboration, creativity, and courage which is why it is celebrated every year in STEAM class. Students were given 10 notecards and 20 dot stickers, and were challenged to build the tallest tower that they could. As an extra fun challenge towards the end, students had to see if their tower could withstand wind.

The Challenge: Students imagined they were on a ship headed towards their dream vacation when a violent storm struck, causing their ship to start sinking. Students were presented with a list of 20 different items, but only had 7 minutes to grab the 7 items that they thought would help their group survive on a deserted island. Students needed to consider how they would get fresh water, food, shelter, and a way to signal to rescuers. This activity promoted critical thinking and collaboration within their teams.
