It’s the 7th Annual African American Read-In in The ‘Brary. As part of the National Association of Teachers of English African American Read-In, we are showing our appreciation for African Americans who have gone before, paved the way, and made discoveries. These tireless explorers harnessed the power of “What if?” “I wonder,” and “Why not?” to change our world. We celebrate their contributions all year long in our classes and our library, but the week of February 12th as part of our Black History Celebration we are pulling out the stops and taking time to learn more. Mr. Keith Tolen is back as our artist in residence. If you don’t know his work you can EXPLORE his art on Instagram. One does not need to be Neil deGrasse Tyson to find new worlds, you just have to ask “what if,” “I wonder,” or “why not” to begin your journey and make the world better for us all.
