Be sure to come check out some of our most popular Hispanic authors. We have books in English AND Spanish!
We were honored to sponsor the WORD poetry slam in April. Thank you Mrs. Boykin for bringing your rising voices to The 'Brary to celebrate with us.
Nearly 20 SV writers had the unique opportunity to experience poetry writing workshops with Nigerian British poet-playwright Yomi Sode and Ohio-based poet, educator, and editor Peter Kahn! The stop at SV was part of weeklong programming sponsored by Richland Library. Spring Valley student poets, Elliott Naddell, Emerson Naddell, and Anya Hopkins participated in poetry readings at the Richland County Library Celebration of Words along with six students from Kenan High School, Jennifer Bartell Boykin (Poet Laureate for Columbia South Carolina), Alyssa Stewart (SVHS Graduate), Yomi Soda, and Peter Kahn.
This year's March Madness Tournament had lots of bracket hopefuls but there could be only one - scratch that - two winners. Congratulations Kendall and Aaliyah! They each enjoyed dining on their own full sized pizza in the library during lunch April 6th. Well done!
Do your basketball research.
Pick up a bracket from the library and fill it out.
Write your name and student id number at the top.
Turn it in at the circulation desk.
Hope your team wins.

Eamon Wood was recognized at the South Carolina Association of School Librarians at their state convention in March for his excellent service to school libraries. He has served all 4 years of his high school career as an aid to The ‘Brary! Were it not for Eamon we would not have 3D printers or Oculus Headsets. He has been an invaluable resource for library the curation and selection of library materials. We have been blessed by his service and wish him well on his next chapter. Clemson’s gain is our loss as he will be sorely missed upon his graduation.
