Mrs. Tara Ussery, Media Specialist
Hello, I am Mrs. Ussery- your media specialist at Sandlapper Elementary. I am excited to welcome you to the library this year! I am looking forward to helping students and staff find books and resources for personal growth and educational interests. This is my 27th year in education and my 6th year at Sandlapper! I LOVE what I do; I get to work in the best place in the building!
Family: My husband, Stephen, and I have two daughters: Alexa (28) and Meredith (25). We have two dogs named Bruno and Minnie, grand-dog named Luna. I am the youngest of 3 girls and do not have any brothers.
Education: I graduated with a BAIS in 1995 from the University of South Carolina and received my Masters in Library and Information Science in 2014 from the University of South Carolina.
Likes and Dislikes: I love to read (obviously, lol), and my favorite genres are Mystery/Thriller and Historical Fiction. I love watching football and basketball and enjoy playing tennis and golf. Some of my pastimes include watching movies, decorating my home with DIY projects, and being on the lake or at the beach with family and friends. I am a picky eater and there are certain foods that I absolutely will not eat: 1. Pickles...yuk! I even dislike the smell of them! 2. Tomatoes 3. Sushi But I love seafood, only prefer it cooked well. I have a fear of cats, so I do not like being around them, but I love dogs and horses!

Mrs. Mary Creech, Media Assistant
Hello, my name is Mrs. Creech and I am the assistant in the Media Center.
I am so excited to be sharing this year at Sandlapper Elementary with your child. This is my 20th year with Sandlapper Elementary. I was an assistant in Kindergarten for ten years and this is my 10th year in the Media Center. I love working with children of all ages. I promise I will love your child as if he/she were my own. I have three children of my own: Kelsey (31) Spencer (28) and Faith (24). My husband and I will be married thirty-five years in October. I am a Mimi of 6! I enjoy reading, word puzzles and cooking. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions. I will always be there for you and your child.
Once again, welcome to Sandlapper Elementary School. I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
