Plagiarism is using someone else's ideas without properly crediting them. Be careful with your source material and make sure you use in-text citation within the text of your essay and Works Cited or reference page at the end of the essay to properly credit your sources. Depending on which class your research project is for, you will use MLA or APA research format. Consult your teacher if you are not sure. The Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) has great resources to help you with citations: APA or MLA. Do not use AI to write your essay. Ask your teacher about guidance on AI.
Not all websites are realiable sources. Read laterally to determine if a website is reliable and credible. This usually means that you will need to open additional tabs and research information about the author, the publisher, and other websites. Pay attention. There are are many websites, images, news, and other information that is incorrect or misleading on purpose. Be skeptical and always check your sources.
