Welcome
At the Terlier Research Group, housed within Rice University’s Shared Equipment Authority (SEA), we advance the frontiers of materials characterization through innovative instrumentation, methodologies, and student training. Our team fosters a collaborative research ecosystem, mentoring undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers to develop next-generation analytical tools that probe complex materials, interfaces, and reactions under realistic conditions.
Our research spans four core areas: operando SIMS measurements, multimodal and correlative imaging, AI-enabled SIMS analysis, and plasma catalysis for decarbonization and metal refining. By integrating cutting-edge instrumentation with data-driven approaches, we aim to transform advanced characterization platforms into adaptable research tools while training the next generation of scientists at the intersection of analytics, energy technologies, and sustainable materials innovation.
