Born on January 23, 1998 as Jahseh Onfroy  XXXTentacion grew up in Plantation, Florida. XXXTentacion's name comes from the Spanish word for temptation. XXXTentacion grew up to love a variety of music, as many of his influences include Kurt Cobain, The Weeknd, Tupac, and heavy metal. XXXTentacion enjoyed being experimental with his music and stepping out of the norms of music. XXXTentacion released his first song "News/Flock" in 2013 on SoundCloud and his career took off with the release of "Look at Me!" in 2015 on SoundCloud. XXXTentacion Biggest songs, that went platinum were "Jocelyn Flores", "Sad!", and "Moonlight". Sadly, XXXTentacion was robbed and killed June 18, 2018, which had many fans in disbelief. Posthumanous songs and albums were released and still continue to release today.

Juice WRLD also know as Jarad Higgins was born December 2, 1998 in Chicago, Illinois. His early inspiration from Music came from Tupac as his name comes from the movie "Juice" which starred Tupac. While most of his inspiration growing up was Hip-Hop, he has also enjoyed Black Sabbath, Billy Idol, and many punk artists. Juice WRLD found his start on SoundCloud in 2015 when he released 2015. His name has become known to everyone as he released platinum hits like "Lucid Dreams" and "All Girls Are the Same". This was until he overdosed and passed away December 8, 2019, and posthumanous music still released as the album Legends Never Die rose to the charts upon release.

Lil Peep was born in Long Island. His parents were both Harvard graduates. However, as a child, he began experiencing anxiety and self-medicated with marijuana and Xanax. He started his career by releasing music on Sound Cloud. His popularity grew with "Lil Peep; Part One" and "Live Forever." He released mixtapes "Crybaby" and "Hellboy." However, on his 21st birthday, Lil Peep drug overdosed with  fentanyl. Many critics considered his death a significant loss to the emo rap genre. 

Bones was born in Marin County, California. He is considered one of the pioneers of emo rap. His musical style is described as shadow rap and trap metal. He is one of the founding members of the collective TeamSESH. He released one of his first official albums in 2014, called "WhiteRapper." One of his most important albums is called "Garbage," in which he gained massive popularity after its released on June 9, 2014. Many critics such as Complex Magazine described his music as "massive" and "boundary-pushing."

One of the biggest and most popular of all the Emo rappers, Lil Uzi Vert gained a tremendous amount of popularity with his hit record "XO Tour Llif3". Before his career took off, Symere Woods grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was born July 31, 1994. Getting his first break on SoundCloud, Lil Uzi Vert gained a great majority of his fans through the streaming service because it allowed his audience to gain a unique connection. Lil Uzi Vert's unique style makes him synonymous to the Emo Rap sub-genre as it is the standard for all other artits. Lil Wayne was his biggest inspiration for music growing up and he said that he took a liking to Marilyn Manson. 

The newest artists to Emo Rap, Sleepy Hollow blew up with his first song "2055". Born Tegan Chamber on December 20, 1999 in Jamaica. Sleepy Hollow has seen a rise in his popularity over the past years with the help of his songs blowing up on TikTok and the release of his first album Still Sleep?. While new to the sub-genre Sleepy Hollow is still growing and leaves the future of Emo Rap Bright.
