Today, we know for certain that world hunger can be eradicated. This is not an assumption, not a wish, but a reality. Due to rapid economic growth and the increased agricultural productivity over the past two decades, the number of malnourished people has dropped by almost half.
Unfortunately, hunger and malnutrition remain major obstacles for the contries development. According to FAO, there are still 815 million people suffering of chronic hunger and, it is estimated that 821 million people suffered from chronic malnutrition in 2017, often as a direct consequence of environmental degradation, drought and biodiversity loss.
By talking about this issue, we intend to achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture for the people who suffer from it. It is also important to be aware of this global concern: How this affects people by being less productive, how they suffer from being prone to disease, and given this, not being able to increase their incomes and livelihoods.
If we promote sustainable agriculture with modern technologies and fair distribution systems, we would be able to sustain the whole world’s population and make sure that nobody will ever suffer from hunger again.
