How to use a visual schedule
Use a visual schedule to show your child the routine for the day. A visual schedule should be adjusted daily and reflect any changes in the typical routine.
You can go through the visual schedule with your child at the start of the day. In addition, when your child completes one activity be sure to have your child take off that icon and move it over to the finished section. Following the removal of the icon you can then ins truct your child of the next activity by pointing to the icon or having your child point to the icon. You can also ask “What’s next?” and have your child respond with the next task indicated on the schedule.
You can also put in fun activities or tasks such as going to the park, having a snack, playing a game, playing with toys, etc. in between the tasks. For example after completing a reading activity the next task on the schedule can be play with toys. This will allow your child to see when a break or “fun” activity will occur in the day.

Cómo usar un horario visual
Use un horario visual para mostrarle a su hijo la rutina del día. Un horario visual debe ajustarse diariamente y reflejar cualquier cambio en la rutina típica.
Puede revisar el horario visual con su hijo al comienzo del día. Además, cuando su hijo complete una actividad, asegúrese de quitarle ese icono y moverlo a la sección finalizada.
