Welcome students, friends, and family. I created this site to share the amazing things my students at Carter High School are doing and to provide resources. I am so blessed to be able to work with so many amazing students. Remember above all else, no matter how hard things get, you matter and you are cared for.
My goal is to build a class around problem-solving, inquiry, and discussion. A class that takes students beyond just learning to real understanding. I want students to move from compliance to empowerment. Students will be challenged but will get so much more out of the experience for it. I want to create a democratic classroom, where we learn from each other. and help build each other up through our time together.
My name is Jessica Buckle. This will be my 5th year of teaching. I have taught World History, Government, Econ, U.S. History, and APUSH.
I got my Bachelors in History, Single Subject Credential in Social Science, and Masters in History from Cal State Fullerton. I am currently working on my EdD in Educational Leadership at California State University, San Bernardino.
In my spare time I love to travel, read, and play with my dog PJ (Penelope Jane).
If you would like to help contribute to our class, please take a look at our Classroom Wish List on Amazon. It includes basic necessities like kleenex and hand sanitizer to books to add to our diverse and inclusive classroom library to other things that will help improve our classroom experience. Any gift is greatly appreciated!
