Frequently Asked Questions

What is the policy on schedule changes?

Students will have the first 10 days of the school year to request a change in their schedule. Requests for changes will be made in the order they are received. Not every course request will be accommodated due to the complexity of scheduling classes. If students do not make a request within the 10 day period, they will remain in their assigned schedule. All honored schedule changes will be final. Schedules will not be reverted once requested changes have been made.

Why is A-G important?

The A-G requirements are the 15 yearlong courses that high school students must take in high school in order to be eligible for admission into a Cal State or University of California. Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in their A-G classes. Meeting these requirements keeps all post secondary (after high school) options open to you. The counseling team wants you to have choices after graduating and being A-G eligible makes that possible.

How do sports waivers work?

One way to meet your physical education requirement is to play a sport here at Carter High School.
