Access Discus via Launchpad
In the top toolbar, click on A-Z Resources to see the complete list of databases in ABC order by title.
Some database titles reflect the subject matter. Others have more general names that cover multiple topics.
In each database box you will find a brief description and below that, a list of subjects it covers. To see a more detailed description, click on the blue information icon.
At the top of the page, use the filters SUBJECT and/or GRADE LEVEL to help narrow down which databases best suit your needs.
Green Tutorial Slide featured in the video is no longer available. Discus is working on a replacement for it and/or a new video.
Click on HOW-TO in the top green toolbar for more in-depth help with searching and navigating the discus resources.
Boolean Operators - AND OR NOT - are always written in all caps
AND - retrieves items that include 2 different items
OR - retrieves items that have either one of the terms.
NOT - retrieves items that filter out items with that term
Quotation Marks - " " - retrieves items with keeps all the terms together
Asterisk - * - used with a root word retrieves items with all the different forms of that root word.
There is no such thing as a perfect search. Keep trying different options to see which technique works best for you.
