Students and staff should log all reading on Beanstack. Grow your streak and develop lifelong reading habits! Access Beanstack via Launchpad on your laptop and/or add the app to a mobile device. Each month, you have a fresh start to try to reach reading milestones with a new Beanstack reading challenge. Top readers, as well as spotlighted individuals and groups, will be recognized on the bulletin boards. Regular reading improves student achievement across all content areas!
Create a routine to read at a certain times each day at school and at home. Pick a comfortable location with minimal distractions. Preview titles by reading the back cover or front flap to see if they are a good fit for you. Choose books that interest you and are appropriate for your ability level.
15 minutes daily is the minimum expectation. All reading counts - chapter books, nonfiction, audiobooks, graphic novels, mangas, poetry, textbooks, short stories, news articles, etc. Personal goals could include reading more minutes, selecting more genres, or choosing more challenging titles.
