Enlightened is a mental health support programme. Mental health is a struggle many people battle, day after day, with no relief. The best thing a person struggling with their mental health can do is go and see a proffessional doctor or therapist for help - but most times, it's not that simple. Stereotypes, pride, confusion and emotion can make it difficult for a person to ask for help, even when they know it's the best thing to do. The next best thing is not to suffer in silence - it's to try and cope with whatever tools you can get your hands on. Enlightened is filled with those kind of tools - small activities and ideas to try and help keep people afloat amid the tsunami of mental health. While in no way is Enlightened a substitute for proffessional help, Enlightened contains strategies to cope with mental struggles, to support people on their journey towards a happy, healthy mindset.
Enlightened was created by two teenage girls on mental health journeys of their own. Inspired by their own journeys and the first hand knowledge of how difficult it was to ask for help, the creators of Enlightened set out to assist others in coping with the difficulties of mental health from within the individual comfort zone. The creators of Enlightened are not proffessionals, merely fellow members of society, just doing their best to live the happiest they can.
Our name comes from the idea of creating new understanding. Mental health is a complicated journey, and one that is unique to every individual. However, despite the diversity of mental health, one thing is common. You cannot thrive in your journey to healthiness and happiness without some tools or outside help. That is the role that Enlightened means to play in yout mental health journey. Enlightened is a safe space, free of stigma or judgment, where every individual can come to identify or locate tools and tips that can help them get through the day. Remember that most people in your life will have gone through struggles, and it is completely okay to ask your loved ones for help or advice. Remember that if you are not at that stage yet, that is okay as well. Our mission at Enlightened is to share realistic and effective tips to help you help yourself.
