1. What is EcoChallenge?

2. What exactly do I have to do?
You get to pick challenges that you might enjoy or find interesting. You may want to try reducing animal products in your diet or reduce the amount of paper you use. Perhaps you walk or ride a bike more places, cut back on fossil fuels, take shorter showers or recycle more. There are a variety of challenges and at least one might appeal to you.
3. Why are we doing this? What do we win?
Not for money, trinkets, or trophies. We are doing this to improve ourselves, our schools, our community and our planet. All of our small actions add up to real change! The prize? The prize is YOU!You changing your behaviors to positively impact the world around you for sustainable environmental and social change…..plus bragging rights…and perhaps a visit with Paul Hawken?
4. What’s the catch?
THERE IS NONE. Seriously, there’s no cost! You don’t have to install solar panels or build a wind farm. We are just asking you to make a few small changes that can and will have a positive impact on our world.
5. How do I register for Eco Challenge? Ready to join?Go to the links on RCSD homepage, the Facebook page or use your QR scanner to get to the Eco Challenge. Then simply click the JOIN button for the April event. Please join the Rhinebeck Environmental Club’s ECO CHALLENGE RHINEBECK. (click on teams)
6. What if I don’t want to share all the personal information?
Many of the questions have “prefer not to answer” as an option. Feel free to choose that when registering!
7. The registration doesn’t have an age group under 14. How can my child participate?
Northwest Earth Institute allows younger students to enter as long as they have parent permission, so you may help your child sign up at home. A parent can also register and then just choose challenges in which the child can participate.
