Social Activism

Students will examine  the contextual history and the degree to which civic awareness and engagement can impact society.  Students will explore the concept of social justice by examining various movements intended to promote or prevent change, including the effectiveness of methodologies and how those methodologies might apply in today’s society. Using a variety of resources students will develop an informed and broad-based view of social activism and civic engagement to which they can apply a plan of action to their particular area of interest.
