The Physics course covers topics in classical physics including Motion in One and Two Dimensions, Forces, Mechanical Energy, Momentum, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Circuits, Magnetism, Waves, Sound and Optics.
The Physics course is grounded Inquiry Labs and Application of Knowledge. The labs will serve as a means to learn and explore the content which will then be followed by many opportunities to apply the knowledge learned to novel situations. It is vital that conceptual depth is obtained in the content to successfully apply the knowledge to new, unexplored situations. A knowledge of basic math and algebra is required for the course. A large part of success in physics will be consistent opportunities for inquiry, reflection of learning & understanding, feedback on student understanding and revision of work.
