This course focuses on scientific skills such as critical thinking, developing and using models, mathematical and computational thinking, planning and conducting investigations, and supporting arguments with evidence. Topics of interest include, earth system processes and its formation in the solar system, natural and human impacts on climate, mechanical and electrical forces, motion, and the role of energy in our world. The approach to the material will be through demonstrations, guided inquiry activities, experimentation, and projects, supplemented by lecture and discussion.
