This course will allow interested students to explore and utilize timely information in the areas of physical, social and emotional wellness. Specific emphasis is on the importance of maintaining and balancing proper nutrition with the benefits of physical activity. Exploration in the areas of micro and macronutrients, caloric intake, food preparation, nutrition for athletics/fitness, physical well-being and the connection to social/emotional wellness, fitness components and physical literacy will take place. The class will have a rotating schedule between fitness and activity time in the gymnasium and weight room as well as classroom time to explore the concepts of the curriculum.
