This is an introductory course in machine manufacturing. Students will be introduced to the use of shop math that is necessary for machining in the industry. Students will study the proper operation of the lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinders, band saws, and sander. Students will explore a variety of finishing techniques used in industry such as sandblasting and powder coating. Students will be assigned projects and will have the opportunity for personal work. OSHA regulations and procedures will be taught and followed by all members of the class.
