This metals course introduces students to cutting and shaping metals with basic hand and power tools. Students will become familiar with a variety of manufacturing skills such as precision measuring, grinding, shop math, milling, turning, drilling, and bending. Many forms of welding will be explored including MIG and stick. OSHA regulations and procedures will be taught and followed by all members of the class. Students will complete projects based on blueprints and will have the opportunity to complete independent projects if time allows. This course will provide students with background necessary to be successful.
