This course focuses on employment and workplace practices as they relate to the principles of communication. Topics include effective social media and technology communication, interviewing skills, resume writing, listening skills; interpersonal communication in the workplace, organizational culture and diversity; communicating in groups, teams and meetings; and developing effective presentations. This course is fast-paced and students will use a variety of technological tools to create projects.
Students are encouraged, but not required, to work in the RHAM High School store for course extra credit and resume enhancement. Students are encouraged, but not required, to be participating members of the DECA Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship Association. The areas of business covered in this course are designed for the college and career bound student. Eligible business students are encouraged to solicit membership in the RHAM High School chapter of the National Business Honor Society.
PENDING Approval- Students may earn three (3) college credits through a local college or university upon completing all course requirements.
