The primary focus of the painting class is to teach students how to accurately translate objects onto a 2-dimensional surface using painting media. Students will work in a variety of different materials that may include acrylic, oil, watercolor, and Sumie. Students will also be required to maintain a sketchbook and complete written assignments as part of their coursework. Students attaining a C or better in this class are eligible to take Painting II.
Students may earn three (3) college credits for (Art 215: Painting I) through Eastern Connecticut State University if a “C” or better is earned in the course. Students must register for this opportunity by the deadline and are responsible for all fees. Upon successful completion of the course, students can request a transcript, and credits may be transferable to other institutions.
