This course builds on techniques and concepts learned in Jewelry and Enameling I as well as providing a more in depth look into the history and processes used by jewelers and enamel artists. More advanced metalworking and enameling techniques will be covered including lost wax casting, stone setting, forging, forming, cloisonné, and champleve. Students will be required to maintain a sketchbook and complete writing assignments for the course. Aesthetic appreciation will also be taught. Students attaining a B or better in this class are eligible to take Honors Art- 3D or AP 3D Art & Design. All required materials will be provided. Sterling silver, PMC, and stones are optional and must be purchased separately.
