Learn creative techniques for making beautiful books and journals as a means for self-expression. In this course students will learn a variety of bookbinding techniques and explore the world of contemporary book arts. The focus of the course will be on learning basic binding techniques as well as exploring how books can work as a creative way to convey information and ideas. We will explore folded books, stab-bound books, accordion books, flag books, and zines as well as a variety of different media and stamping techniques. Students attaining a B or better in this class plus one other 3D art course are eligible to take Honors Art- 3D or AP 3D Art & Design.
