To study this course you need to have a keen interest in exploring performance skills across Performing Arts. If you are versatile, highly motivated to work as part of a team or independently as a soloist, this is the course for you. You will have the opportunity to study many different styles which will challenge you as a performer.
The Level 3 course is a combination of Dance and Drama units with an emphasis on performance and elements of written coursework underpinning practical.
There is an exploration in how performing arts has developed over time with current implications to the three art forms today.
Each unit will have a series of assignments that cover the grading criteria specifically addressing the specification required by the exam board. You will also be required to perform in shows and participate in internal practical exams to meet the required aspect of vocational training.
5 GCSE at 9 - 4 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 in English and or Maths.
(Students that narrowly miss out on L3 entry requirements can still be accepted subject to decision of subject leader for the chosen course).
On completion of this course you can move on to university to study a variety of BA Honours Degree programmes in the Performing Arts. You may choose a vocational college to train for a professional diploma, which will enable you to progress onto a career in the industry as a Performer or Teacher.
