Raider News

Primary Objective: The primary objective of this course is to assist students in becoming better communicators: better readers, writers, speakers, and listeners through the media and production of a weekly news broadcast.

Course Goals: Students will be able to explain and demonstrate their performance of writing and filming by completing work for a weekly news broadcast to benefit the RHS student body.

Course Description: Mass Media and Journalism will focus on the major aspects of producing a news show including presentation, voice, posture, filmmaking and editing, planning, and understanding the audience. Students will learn a variety of responsibilities and positions related to broadcast journalism including news anchors, reporters, filmers and video editing.

Assessment and evaluation: All evaluations will be made using a set scoring rubric for all projects and activities. The course grades will be determined by the number of points earned by the student and then divided by the total number of possible points. This percentage will then be compared to the grading scale provided by Reynolds Junior-Senior High School.
