Automatic Zeros - If an assignment is not completed by the target due date, a zero will be calculated into the student's grade. This does not count as an attempt. Once the assignment has been completed by the student, the grade will be replaced.I
Buzz - online platform where students complete assignments
Genius - online platform where students can access classes, report cards, transcripts -- clicking on any class in genius will take a student to the Buzz platform. Click here to log in
Google Meets - a video conferencing platform where students will attend live classes and meet with teachers or success coaches to ask questions or get help with assignments - Links to Google Meets can be found on the staff members' landing pages.
Landing page - where students can see teacher and class information - located on the main page for each class in Buzz
Live classes - Students will have a Google Meets class with teachers and fellow classmates once a week for every subject that s/he is enrolled in. The time and date for each class can be found on the teacher's landing page. If a student misses a live class, s/he will need to watch the recording.
Mastery - the required grade for all gradable assignments - Students are given three attempts on quizzes and tests. Mastery must be met in order to move on to the next assignment.
Orientatin - A meeting with a student's success coach to help familiarize students with iSchool.
Pacing - the recommended plan to get all assignments completed in a semester. All targetdue dates can be found in the the student's grade book in Buzz, and to-do lists are provided daily for students to follow.
To-do list - a list of assignments that needs to be completed each day to stay on the recommended pace - found on the main page in Buzz (for all classes) and found in each individual class (for individual class assignments)
The start of a new school year can be exciting, but we know it can also be a bit scary and stressful, especially for those who have never attended a virtual school. Our alumni have been there, and they wanted to share some words of encouragement as you start the school year.
