Why should I take the PSAT?
The Preliminary SAT, also known as the PSAT/NMSQT® (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), is a practice version of the SAT exam. You can only take the PSAT once per year. If you earn a high score on the PSAT your junior year, you could qualify to receive a National Merit Scholarship.
How do I register for the PSAT?
iSVA does not administer this test. You must register with your local high school.
Does it cost anything to take the PSAT?
Yes, it does cost $18.
When should I contact my local high school to register?
The time to contact your local high school is NOW. Most schools will be updating the number of PSAT test documents they are ordering and they will need to know how many students wish to test.

When registering, it asks for a school code. What school code do I use?

When does the test occur and where do I go to take it?
The testing window for the PSAT is October 1-October 31. All questions regarding scheduling, location, and payment should be directed to the local high school in your home town.
