This year's Picnic was a great success!!
We had a good turnout and it was great to meet all the new families that recently moved to the neighborhood.
Thank you to all the volunteers that made this possible.
Lewisburg is a quiet, family-oriented neighborhood nestled along the beautiful north shore of Lake Ponchartrain, just west of the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway. Its natural, unspoiled setting is a few miles west of the quaint town of Mandeville and a 40-minute drive from the history and charm of New Orleans. Large, old live oaks abound in Lewisburg; in fact, it boasts the largest live oak tree in North America, the Seven Sisters Oak. The gnarled, fern-covered, limbs of Lewisburg's many oak trees are dripping in Spanish moss, and as they reach out over the streets, homes and shoreline, they seem longing to tell residents stories of the past. Lewisburg enjoys all the trappings of typical Louisiana Life-- Crawfish boils, Mardi Gras celebrations, family gatherings, and Sundays watching the Saints. Its rich history, ever-changing lake vistas, and majestic oaks, make it one of the most beautiful residential districts in America.
